The Glencheck isn't quite English in origin. It has its roots in the Scottish Highlands, where it was woven for shepherds and estate guardians. Each estate had its own distinctive design and colors. A set of interwoven checks, alternating light and dark, more subtle than tartan, less graphic than houndstooth. Woven from raw, rustic wool, it was designed to withstand the rigors of climate and wear.
Then came Edward VIII, the epitome of British refinement, who popularized tartan in the early 20th century. Introduced into his wardrobe, Glencheck left the Scottish moors to take its place in London's most elegant circles, and became, here at home, the “Glencheck”.

Our beige tweed single breasted jacket, soft and natural, is part of this heritage. Constructed with unconstructed shoulders, it goes lightly with a coordinating vest, a pink striped cotton poplin shirt and a navy knit tie. A perfect balance between elegance and casualness.
