Navy double-breasted Blazer

Navy double-breasted Blazer

Ref:VEBL007HS

Navy flannel double-breasted blazer - Double-breasted jacket with 6 golden brass buttons, wide notch lapel, soft shoulder padding, barchetta chest pocket, two straight flap pockets, two back slits, 6mm amf stitching.

In the same way as the tuxedo or the morning coat, the codes of the blazer are well known: a navy blue jacket, often double-breasted, with gold buttons. If the blazer exudes a sporty allure and a form of prestige linked to the uniform it's not without a link to its history and origins, which are thought to be twofold.

One of the blazer's earliest appearances dates back to the 1820s, when it was worn by the Cambridge nautical team, designed in bright colors, hence the name "blazer" from the verb blaze, meaning to blaze.
Another theory suggests that the blazer was introduced in 1837 by the captain of HMS Blazer to welcome Queen Victoria aboard his ship, imposing a navy blue double-breasted jacket with Royal Navy brass buttons on his crew.

Whether you have the soul of a schoolboy or a sailor, the blazer is an everyday uniform that has the immense merit of going with just about everything: flannel pants, jeans, chinos.
